Coming to London for the Conference

Will London Business School arrange and / or pay for my travel to London? 
No, London Business School will only provide for shared accommodation in nearby hotel, as well as for lunch, dinner and periodic refreshments during the conference. Participants will be responsible for their own travel and incidental expenses.

I need an invitation letter from London Business School to obtain an entry clearance (i.e. visa) to travel to the United Kingdom. How do I get one? 
Please indicate whether you need this document or not when filling out the on-line application form. When we send out the acceptance e-mail, you will be asked to provide us with your contact details and personal information for this purpose. Upon receiving your confirmation e-mail of attendance, along with your details, we will send out the necessary documents in a hard copy. Please do note that we need 3 working days to issue the visa letter after receiving all relevant information. 


What do I do if I don’t receive the invitation letter in time for my visa interview / application submission appointment? 
We will try our best to avoid such circumstances. Experience in the past has shown that due diligence on both sides (London Business School and the participant) significantly reduces the chances of such inconvenience. However, in case such should arise, please let us know by sending an e-mail on tadc-info@london.edu. 

Considering the conference schedule, by when should I plan to arrive in London? 
The conference begins with registration at 14:00 pm on May 10, 2018. You may want to leave at least a 3-hour gap between your flight arrival time and the conference start time to cover possible delays at the airport on arrival (including Immigration and Customs' clearance), travelling to London Business School, etc. 

Considering the conference schedule, by what time will I be able to get to the airport / train station for my return journey? 
The final day of the conference ends with a Gala dinner, which should finish by 9 pm. Please allow enough time between then and your return flight so that you can collect your luggage from the hotel, get to the point of departure, and navigate through the check-in as well as security clearance queues. We provide accommodation for the final day, in case travelling on this day after the Gala dinner proves difficult. Many previous-years’ participants opted in for travelling back to their country of residence on the following day. 

Which airports serve London, and is any one of them more convenient than the others for coming to London Business School? 
London is served by Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Luton and Stansted. From both Stansted and Luton there are direct coach services to Baker Street Station/Marylebone offered by National Express and Easybus, see Stansted Transportation and Luton Transportation pages for more information.

How do I get to London Business School from Heathrow / Gatwick / Stansted / City / Luton airport or train stations (for Eurostar from Europe and within the UK)? 
Please refer to here for detailed instructions on how to get to the school. 

Do I need to carry any documents on me (i.e., in your hand luggage and not the checked-in luggage) when I travel to London? 
Please carry any conference-related documents (including the print-out of the acceptance and confirmation of attendance e-mails, as well as a copy of the invitation letter if you had asked for it) in your hand baggage and keep them ready for inspection at the Immigration check. This will considerably speed up the process. 

How do I get to the hotel from Heathrow / Gatwick / Stansted / City / Luton airport or Eurostar station? 
Details of the location of the hotel and the directions to and from the airports / train stations will be communicated via e-mail by early May 2018 at the latest. 

How do I get to London Business School from the Hotel? 
The hotel will be located within an easy walking distance (10 to 15 minutes) from London Business School. You will be provided with the specific directions by early May at the latest.
